Opinion

Since all of my BM decided they wanted to get their hair done I decided I would pay for this as part of their BM gift.  I will also be getting them this below in their favorite colors.

I am now having second thoughts about the hair thing, thinking I should get them another gift gift.  What do you think?  What would you prefer?
And just incase its asked I am not requiring the girls to do their hair or makeup.  I asked who was interested some said yes to hair and makeup some said yes to only hair. I just figured since they all said yes, this would be a good idea.

Unless the bride picked out a material gift that I *really* wanted, I think I'd rather have the hair paid for than a material gift. I'd rather have the extra $75 (or whatever) in my pocket than have some kind of item that I wouldn't use very often.

But I think that something personal should be given in addition to hair/makeup payments. Even if it's a $10 Starbucks card or a nice handwritten note of thanks for their friendship and support.

I would need to know what the other gift gift was to decide.  If I liked the gift, I would want the gift, but otherwise hair is fine.  I think it is nice for the bride to pay for hair, but I don't view anything directly related to her wedding as that much of a gift.

And just making sure -- you didn't tell/hint to them that you were paying for hair, right?  Because if that is the case, hair it is!

One gift I did like was a nice frame with a post-it saying a picture of us was coming.  On her wedding day the photographer took shots with the bride and each one of us...Its nice to have a memory like that since you dont really get to take them as a bridesmaid.

I think that jewelry roll thing is really cute. That is something I know I would never buy, but probably should have.

I also really like the frame idea.

One wedding I was a bridesmaid in, the bride treated the party to a morning of manicures and pedicures as part of our gift. She did not require us to get our nails done, but it was a nice treate and it provided some no-stress bonding the day before the wedding.

I think that as long as you are getting the girls a little something thoughtful they will appreciate the gesture of you paying for their hair. It is so expensive to be part of a wedding party and I'm sure they could use the relief.
