Charlotte Ceremony Sites

I recently got engaged and am hoping to get married in Charlotte in August 2011.  I have been reading Knot posts off and on for a couple years now but haven't had success recently in identifying posts discussing ceremony sites in Charlotte so I apologize if this is a duplicate!

Because my fiance and I don't live in Charlotte, we're not a member of a church but that would be our ideal ceremony location.  Does anyone have any suggestions for churches that will rent to non-members?

I've already contacted St. Mary's Chapel and haven't heard back.  Belk Chapel is under construction through May 2013.  I've also contacted Caldwell Memorial Church (my coworker referred me).  Any other suggestions?!

What's your budget? That will help us out a little bit.

Grace Covenant Church in the South End will allow you to get married there, but you have to supply your own pastor and he has to vouch that you are a CHristian and going to premarital counseling

Church at Charlotte allows non-members (SouthPark area).  I think the cost was $900.  St. John's Episcopal allows non-members as well.  Aunt Stella (?) Event Center, Grace Event Center are both downtown. Little Chapel (?) Most Methodist and Lutheran churchs allow non-members.  The fees just may be a little bit higher than for members.  I tried googling churches and then checked out their websites for more info describing wedding particulars.

I'm comfortable paying up to $2,000 for a church but would obviously prefer less.  I'm hoping to have my reception Uptown so it would be great if the church were located near there as well!  Several of the ones I've found in uptown are ~2,800.

    Thanks for all the ideas!!
