First time dress shopping

So FI and I are hitting up Park Ave and Arlene's this Sat and then Bijou next Sat to finally get started with dress shopping.

Other than bringing along picture of dreses we like, is there anything else we need (except CC/checkbook in case we fall in love with a dress)? We don't need to be concerned about undergarmets for this until fittings, right? Any tips for shopping/price negotiating?

I would bring a strapless bra and underwear that covers! haha It made life a lot easier- for some I also brought spanx to wear. That's so fun you two are shopping together- so you both will be seeing eachothers dresses before the wedding?

I would suggest at the minimum to wear a strapless bra and panties that you don't mind somone else seeing. I would also bring a pair of heels. Just to give you an idea instead of having to stand on your toes.

I love Park Ave! My mom and I will be there Saturday. I agree with PPer's and definitely bring a strapless bra and shoes that might be around the height you want so you can get a feel of the dress. Pictures definitely help! Also, Park Ave doesn't except checks, just CC. So just a heads up. Also a hair tie in case you want to throw your hair up to see what it would look like with your hair down and up.

Just a couple ideas. Have great time!

Great ideas, thanks ladies. While we'll be gown shopping at the same time, we will not see each others dresses until the ceremony. We'll have out MOHs check out both to make sure we don't clash or get the same dress lol. I have no issue seeing the dress before hand, but FI doesn't want to see it until the ceremony, which is pretty cute so I'll let her have that under the condition that I get to walk down the aisle first and watch her walk down second :)

Now I need to go buy a strapless bra, i don't know whatever happened to mine lol

I actually recommend wearing black underwear. If you can see it through the dress, it's probably so sheer that flash photography may expose what's underneath.

My only strapless bra is black, so that wasn't a problem. I also brought a plunge-front bra with straps, because most of the dresses I looked at had v-necks. And strapless bras make my bust look odd when I'm not wearing something that's strapless.
