Fitting/I am an idiot...No PIP

OK, so my first fitting was not anywhere near as enjoyable as I'd hoped.  The seamstress was a little rough around the edges and had a very thick accent. After I got frustrated over our  communication problem I found my original salesperson and everything worked out fine.  I was a little frazzled though and by the time I remembered that my camera was in my bag, I was in my underwear and my dress was already out of the room.  So...no pictures.  I promise to have some in 3 weeks.

I know fitting #2 will make me happy, I just didn't realize how unnerving it would be to put something on that was way too big and try to make decisions on things like cups and the bustle without being able to see the finished product.  I know that whatever it looks like next time can be changed if I don't like it, but overall, I didn't find the experience all that fun.

Sounds a little bit like my 1st fitting, to tell you the truth!

Communication issues, forgot the camera, bit frazzled by decisions.

2nd time I put it on was more enjoyable, to say the least LOL

It *will* be great... but I know the post-1st fitting frustration for what it's worth!

I'm fine now, just mad at myself that I didn't take pictures!

When I told her I wanted a Euro bustle she said, "You can't do that with this dress"  which set me off a bit.  I would have preferred, "let me pin it and we'll see how it looks."  It turned out she can do it that way.  I feel like just about every seamstress I've dealt with was a little bossy and hard to talk to.

I felt very awkward during my first fitting and was questioning some decisions after I left the shop.  I just had my 2nd this week and even though I still need some alterations, I felt much happier.  I think once you see the dress fitting better, you'll feel better.    One thing that helped was having my mom and maid of honor there.  They questioned everything so it felt good to have someone backing me up.

That's the exact experience I had at my first fitting. It was not fun. Where was your fitting at?

My first fitting was like that too, I have a corset top which can be made tighter or looser by adjusting the ties, it fit perfectly but the lady kept wanting to alter it to make it tighter. I told her to leave it alone. My 2nd fitting the dress was absolutely perfect, I cannot wait for my third and final next Saturday

I'm sure your dress will be beautiful and you will enjoy your 2nd fitting, don't forget to take pics!

Park Avenue Bridal, but I don't necessarily think it was them, the more people I talk to the more I find had a crap first fitting.

it's ok...mine told me that my boobs were uneven at my first fitting, and then yelled at my mom for taking pictures

this is also the same one that 10 years ago told me that my "boobies don't fit the darts" in my bm dress for my sister's wedding...

if that makes you feel any better...
