I woke up thinking it was Friday

FFIL is doing well, he's still in the hospital, but no longer in ICU.  They're keeping him medicated but forcing him to get up and do laps of the floor a few times per day.  Duke is having trouble with their air conditioning system, it keeps going out, so that's been fun.  Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

Hope everyone has a great day today!  I still have a ton of stuff to do before getting my invitations out the door.  And I'm running late for work

Mary, Glad to hear that FFIL is improving!

In 1 week I'm heading to the beach for my bachelorette weekend....I can't wait!  Then its only 2 weeks until the wedding when I come back...eeep!!!

This heat is really starting to get to me...I couldn't even make it to the gym yesterday I felt so dehydrated...even after 3 liters of water.  Apparently the outside sales job was created when it wasn't 1230498320498 degrees out.  I'll be glad to get some relief!

Good morning everyone! Mary, I'm glad FFIL is doing better! I didn't realize you guys were at Duke.  I'll be in the hospital today working with a patient in a clinical experiment for work, I'll be thinking about y'all.  

I have a busy day today and I have to give an hour long presentation tomorrow for work... Booooo.  But, after that's over, I'm expecting this weekend to be lots of fun.  I'm hosting a dinner party for my MOH on Saturday and I'm super excited to be making lots of food and decor!

Mary, I'm happy to hear all is going better ) Hopefully Duke gets the AC going good. I know it's gotta be icky without it and the patients would truly appreciate it!

Malea, I'm with you on the heat. I got a camelback to take with me to the barn, plus I take another large water bottle and I drank both completely over a matter of two hours. Plus I went there with the full intent to ride, but ended up just giving the horses a bath lol.

I'm heading out to the barn again and hopefully can ride, but we'll see since the index is at 105. . .
I also went to Triangle sport horse last night to try on breeches and tallboots for tryouts and the pair of breeches that I originally wanted was out of my size so they gave me another pair so that I could at least make sure of the size that I needed. . . tried those on, felt amazing and looked great. With that said though. . I saw the price tag AFTER I put them on. . . .$300 bucks. . YIKES! And now I REALLLLLLY want them, but theres no way I can justify that right now Hah.

I dirink so much water just sitting at my desk every day (at least 2 liters before I leave work each day), I'm glad y'all are trying to stay hydrated while you're outside! 

Beka, hope the horses behave.

Malea, you're so close!  What beach are y'all going to?

Meredith, yep.  FMIL is a nurse manager there, and it was the closest hospital to where FFIL lives, so he went there.

I'm helping with and going to my nephew's 3rd birthday party. I can't believe he is 3 already! Then Saturday night my FH and I are babysitting my nephew and neice (whose 10 months) so my sister and brother in law can go out to dinner.  It is so cute to see FH with the kids. What about you? Anything fun for the weekend?

Mary glad things are going well!  Good morning to everyone!

I am ready for the weekend.  Woke up ths morning with a monster headache -- probably because with the constant lightning last night I couldn't get to sleep. 

My weekend plans include dragging FI back to look at tuxes.  I am not sold on the color combo he and two of his GM picked out so I need to see it again.  The service we got lasttime was so bad the girl helping us didn't really lay everythingout right...sadly its one of the only national chains around and I have people in other states who need to get measured.

We are going to the GSO Beerfest on Saturday so I'm excited about that!  That will mean we won't get anything done Sunday though because we will be so tired!

Hi all!

Malea - I feel your pain.  Even my dog had a mini heat stroke episode yesterday afternoon.  It was kinda funny and scary at the same time.  He wobbled on his legs and would fall down.  We quickly got him inside and hydrated.  He was running around like a mad man later last night so we knew he was going to be fine.  He's definitely a "mighty dog."

Jenni, my niece turned 3 a few weeks before the wedding. It's insane how fast they grow up!

Today is DH's Friday & we get to go to the dentist when he gets off work...we're both overdue for a cleaning :-/ 

We have visitors coming into town this weekend (the next 3 weekends actually!) BIL is coming with his roommate & we're going to King's Dominion Saturday. My mom is coming into town tomorrow with her BF & my niece. It will be great to see them all but it kind of sucks that they'll all be here at one time. My mom planned on coming 2 weeks ago & that didn't work out so she re-scheduled for this weekend. BIL called last Friday to say he was going to visit family in VA & wanted us to meet him at King's Dominion. A few days later he decided he wanted to stay in MD with us so now we have double the guests...yay ;-) It should be fun/interesting/crowded for the next few days.

Good morning! Mary I'm so glad your FFIL is doing better, I'm in a satellite Duke office and our A/C keeps going out too! It gets pretty hot in here in the afternoons so I am hoping they can keep it going today...

Beka, don't you love that what are essentially stretch pants cost so much? I was buying some recently and the lady was like "don't you want to try these on, they're new!" and I'm like, lady that's more than I pay for groceries in a month... maybe in 20 years...

Hope everyone has a great day and those with weekend plans have fun! I'm heading to a fitting this weekend, after some drama at the last appointment where the lady had no idea what I wanted (she was supposed to have been filled in by the store where I bought my dress) hopefully this one will go well. The store called to tell me that the owner will now be doing my alterations (and I didn't even pitch a fit so I was pleased) so that's a good sign I think.

Yeah really!!! I mainly put them on to make sure of what my size was / try them on with the boots. I'd LOVE to have them, but with my lack of a super duper pay check, only in my dreams.
The guy that helped me with boots was telling me about a friend of his that just bought some dressage boots that have a metal rod  in the back to keep her leg perfectly straight. His remark was "She'll be paying for those bad boys until she dies"

DH also just FINALLY realized what I mean't when I said that it isnt cheap lol

Haha yes, I know of what you speak. FI found a horse for sale through a friend, a super cute polo pony. FI was like, well, we can save up for him! (He was a couple thousand, not too bad for the quality of horse he was.) I tried to explain that <em>buying </em>the horse is the "cheap" part, it's the feeding and the board and vet bills and the farrier bills and the equipment... I still don't think he quite understands.

Oh well! It'll make it easier to convince him we need horses in the future. :)

Just Myrtle...nothing fancy...but flopping my booty on the beach for 3 days beats any day at work...or any day at home for that matter =)  Not to mention all 6 of my bridesmaids were able to swing the trip so it will be an amazing time with my ladies!!
