Liberty House

Greetings all~
I am going to check out Liberty House this Sat. and was wondering if anyone has any feedback about the place?  We will be getting married this summer in July, yes they have open dates.  The menu looks awesome, but of course no prices are listed.  We are having a small wedding 75 at max and are considering just having the ceremony and dinner.. no dancing... just music in the back, we are trying for a low key wedding.. I've been lookingat Liberty House for years and would love to get married here.  Any info is greatly appreciated!  have fun planning your weddings ladies :)

Hey! We went to Liberty House and LOVED it BUT unfortunately it's over our budget. For a July wedding...Fri/Sun night (minimum of 150 guests) it would be $162pp and for a Sat night (minimum 200 guests) it would be $180pp in the grand ballroom (these prices do not include gratuity & tax).

They do have another room that's smaller (the Liberty Room) which would lower your minimum to 75 guests but the pricing is the same. In my opinion, this room is less elegant, half of the room has a wooden floor and the other half is covered in pavers. Also, events in this room share the bathrooms with the restaurant.

Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!!!

We looked too, lovely as the PP have said, but unfortunately out of our budget (we were quoted $180pp for a Saturday) and over our minimums.

It's overpriced and honestly the food is just so so.  You're paying for the view.

I was there about two years ago for a TV wedding- the show was called "Hitched or Ditched" and my friends and I were hired as extras.  The place was beautiful, but the food was definitely more presentation than taste.  However, it was also for the TV show, so I'm not sure if that's their normal menu! Good luck!

I loved the Liberty House too but the minimums were just too high for us (we have 125 guests planned).  However, if they have open dates 6 months out maybe they will be flexible.

There are so many pretty and chic-y places along the river I am sure you will find something amazing - good luck at the Chart House and with your dress!

Wow.  I didn't even think about being able to negotiate on price since it would be about 5 months away.  I was too focused on just finding an open place! lol   We shall see how the weekend plays out.  I can't wait to go look for my dress! it should be a fun filled weekend :)

I went to Liberty House for an intimate wedding of about 40 last summer, it was beautiful! Yes, my best friend from high school was the bride, but that doesn't effect my thoughts on the venue. The ceremony was in a back garden with a backdrop of NYC with the cocktail hour on the back patio and the dinner inside on the first floor. There wasn't any intentional dancing as they did not hire a dj or band, but there was a band playing for the rest of the dinner patrons and that resulted in us all sharing a few couples only dances on the back patio that we had shared cocktails earlier. The dinner was wonderful, the waitstaff was more than accomodating, I think Liberty House even made their wedding cake which was more than memorable. Good luck with your wedding planning, my fiance and I had a wonderful time there!

I also hear that your guest spend more time outside looking at the view then focusing on your wedding.  They have a sister place called The Stone House- its really cool but the prices are the same and the food is noted as not good.

What did you think of the smaller room at the Liberty House (the Liberty Room)? I went to go visit it a few months ago and I don't think I went at the best time because the outside patio was piled high with snow and the inside smelled like it was being used as a smoking room.  Also, I was really thrown off by the red and yellow panels!  Overall, I was not that impressed, especially compared to the larger room.  Is there even a nice view in the smaller room?

I was there twice for company functions and wasn't impressed with the room, the service, or the food.  Also people coming from the West were an hour late battling the traffic on the turnpike extension.
