NWR: What to send?

FI and I decided to send FSIL and her hubby a housewarming gift.

I've posted about her before, but just in case... They're married and are 19, living in the desert of California since that's where he's stationed for the military, FMIL told me not to get them a FLIP cam for their wedding since they'd make "more sex tapes".

She's having a really rough time being across the country, with no friends, jobless while he works all day, in an apartment with no air conditioning. We'd like to send them something, but not sure what. Suggestions please? Serious or snarky will work.

    An Air conditioner?? lol. kidding.

    What was that comment about "sex tapes"?? That seems kind of rude to say.

    The first thing I thought of was that Dyson (I think that's the company) fan that's advertised on TV by that creepy sounding guy with the accent.  It's the fan that doesn't cut the air or something like that so it's really quiet.

    Would something like that work?

    Does she like to cook?  You could get them a basket or box full of cook books, cooking videos, pots and pans, baking supplies, etc. so she has something to do in her spare time and her hubby gets to eat the goodies she makes!

    no, she doesn't cook, like at all. and they're about an hour away from palm springs, so there are no stores around them besides whatever is on the base so gift cards aren't really practical.

    my future ILs are crazy, to put it lightly. i was at a loss for what to get them for a wedding gift, since at the time we thought he was going to be deployed, and someone on here suggested a flip video camera. i told FMIL about it and she said that they already have one they use to make sex tapes. talk about awkward.

    An air conditioner.  Only I'm not kidding.  No air conditioning in that climate sounds vile.

    the a/c idea is good now that i think about it lol. That Dyson fan is good too.

    I think the whole sex tape thing should be their business, not your FMIL's and to hell with that get the camera if you really want to! :)

    Do they have a computer? Does he have a laptop? Skype credits are a good thing. They can talk like they're talking on the phone and videochat and whatnot while he's away.  Basically you purchase credits and download the program and you can talk to anyone via IM video or voice.

    I agree with PPs about the air conditioner.  I'm sure they would both appreciate it.

    I immediatly thought AC also - that would be a great gift

    IVF#2 started stims 11/4/11 - same protocol, increase in concentration of HCG, added CoQ10, no response, cancelled on CD 12
    12/2/11 began accupuncture; Break in Dec. Next cycle anticipated in Jan.
