hey this is my first post on theknot and its totally necessary! im overwhelmed with looking for a photographer....

i would like photo journalism/candid shots, 2 photographers obviously. Its an outside wedding at home on 9.10.11 so i know thats a popular date & i need to lock someone in!! please help!!!!! thank you soooo much.

plue im not having a videographer so i want the photographer to be great!

John Arcara --- www.johnarcara.com -- he always brings an assistant -- he is there for 9hrs gives you a DVD with every single photo & prints every photo for you & you can pay extra to have him make you an album -- he may already be booked, but give him a shot!

Michael Distasio is who I went with... 2 photographers (him & sharon - she is awesome); 1 assistant (for the photobooth - but not necessary) and his son is my videographer! Gave me a great deal - all digital photos (color, sepia, black and white, b&w with color), touchups, 3 wall photos, 1 album, 2 parents albums, engagement photos, all pix on a CD (not touched up), proofs online with password for 6 months, guestbook using engagement photos, thank yous, photobooth & videographer

Brad Ross is doing our photos next May and I am so excited! bradross.net. He's got a great photojournalistic style and is pretty reasonably priced. (John Arcara was great, too, but just a little out of my budget!)

try multivision in paramus. they have several photographers for availability and as a result they have decent prices and are willing to work wthin your budget.

I also recommend Brad Ross. He just did our wedding on Oct 16th. So far the pictures that we've seen on his blog are great. He was really nice to work with and worked within our budget too.

We're using Tatiana Breslow out of NYC.  She's super skilled and her price is reasonable.  She did our e-pics and they were wonderful.  good luck!

Robert Wayne Photography (http://www.robertwaynephotography.com).  We love his style, he's very affordable, works with an assistant and offers second photographers.  I love his creative eye.

Budget would be very, very helpful... If you're looking to spend around $2000, recommendations of photographers who will cost $10,000 won't be helpful, and if you're looking to spend around $10,000, recommendations of photographers who will cost $2000 won't be helpful.

She is great.  Recently moved to Chicago, but she works back and forth in NYC metro and in Chicago.  She has been so awesome so far.  Our engagement pics were amazing, she is always prompt in answering emails, and keeps me on track.  I have no worries about our wedding pictures because I have her.  She also brings an assistant.

Courtney Dudley-we're getting 2 photogs, and 10 hrs for $2,800. She is AMAZING. Very photojournalistic approach which is what we wanted. Definitely contact her, it's one of the best wedding decisions I've made thus far!! Good luck!

thank you so much for the advise, i should of mentioned my budget before in the the first post. 

i had a photographer booked originally, 2 young girls with a photojournalistic approach & awesome & i got an email from one of them telling me she cant do it because her best friend is getting married the same day as me. so she cancelled!! im so pissed off but whatever, it wasn't meant to be. the the search starts all over again....

they were going to cost about 7-8k.   so i would like to keep it around that or below obviously.  thanks for the help!!!!!!!!! keep em coming....
