Caterers for Engagement Party

Hey guys :)

Since everyone on here seems to have such great tips - I thought I'd ask about Caterers.  My parents offered to throw us an engagement party at their house in central New Jersey.  They were planning on inviting 75 people.  I don't want my mother cooking up a storm for that many people so we agreed on taking a look at some local caterers.  We would need the full package - tent, tables, chairs, plates etc - people helping us to set up - and take everything down...

Can anyone recommend a caterer that they've used in the past?  Thanks very much!

If you are looking at cost, it seriously may end up being cheaper having it out somewhere after you consider the cost of the rentals and the food

My best friend used Country Picnic for her at-home reception in her parents' backyard.  I thought the food was really good.  They did the tent/chairs/linens/etc. too I think.

Not sure what kind of food you're looking for but we used Troy's Deli in Camden County when we had our engagement party in our backyard over the summer.  It's nothing too fancy but their prices were really reasonable.

i agree its probably cheaper to have brunch somewhere or a lunch at a byob.. for caterers try bella italia in monroe amazing food my family and friends always use them... look into old man raffertys brunch for your party its like 18.95 a person and its crab legs, prime rib and tons and tons of great food

I just read about the tent thing, we got our tent from a local fire department that rents tents, chairs, and tables for a reasonable price.

Dicosmos in Clark catered my engagement party and Rosatas in Hampton just catered a birthday party for us, they were half the price and everyone raved about the food. I highly recommend them! Dicosmos was great too but the price was double.

I don't know much about Central Jersey, but we've had several parties catered (in north Jersey) by The Market Basket and the food is always spectacular.
