For those of you who have a really thin wedding band with diamonds

Did you or are you doing a little bit thicker of a wedding band?  I love my e-ring it is a round diamond on a very high setting with very small diamonds on the band.  Here is a pic.

I was thinking of doing my wedding band with bigger diamonds.  Will that look funny with my e-ring since the band is so skinny?

I would do a wedding band that is the same size as your engagement ring, otherwise your beautiful ring will look awkward and a little "lost" against the wedding band.  I think it would be too over powering against your engagement ring,  but that's just my opinion.

I personally think doing the same size band would look nicest.  If you want more you could always buy 2 bands and put one on each side of your engagement ring.

If you like the thicker ring, then you should go with what makes you happy.  Go to the jewler and try on each type you like.  I tried on so many till i found what I liked and match with my engagement ring.

    Good luck!

Thanks ladies!  I think you are right that I just need to try them on.  I like the idea of the 2 bands and 1 on each side.  If they match my e-ring I think that will look really nice!!  Because I do love my diamond so I don't want to take away from it.

I was actually at the jewelry store the other day trying on bands for the same reason. I wanted to see how the bands with bigger diamonds looked. None of them looked right except the ones with the same size diamonds. But it may just be a matter of personal taste :)

I couldn't find a wedding band with bigger diamonds that looked good with my smaller band. It just didn't fit. I suggest you go and try a bunch on- only your preference matters. I ended up with a matching wedding band

Thanks I probably won't be trying them on for another year but I just get bored at work and think about it lol.  I am sure I will just have to see it on my finger to see what I like the best.

Hi!  Like you, I have a high setting with small diamonds around the band.  We just went last Saturday and I tried on a few bands... I thought I wanted one with bigger diamonds but it just didn't look right.  In fact, the band didn't lie flush against my e-ring.

Then I tried on the matching band and it was a no-brainer.  It didn't take away from the center diamond at all.  The woman suggested doing one on each side and I really like that idea; maybe not at first but for some sort of anniversary.

For something thicker, I think I'm going to get a super-wide, simple, white gold wedding band for when I don't want to wear the bling.

you may be able to get away with a thicker band, but i think the diamonds should be the same size as the ones on your E-ring.

1 idea -  to make it more "blingy" maybe you could get a band with 2 or 3 rows of diamonds?
Another idea - 2 rings same size as e-ring, one on each side, like PP. just one would be the wedding band. other could be an anniversary or push ring.

we were talking about push rings at the last GTG. i'd never heard of them before! if anyone's lost, your hubby gives it to you when you have your first kid.

i'm not quite sure how anniversary/push rings work tho... as in, do you get them both at the same time (i feel like you'd want to so they're matching) and put it away in bank? or do you wait (and hope) for the time to come?

anyway, like PP, try on lots of rings (and enjoy it too!)  :)

If you pick something thicker it will compete with your engagement ring and you will lose focus on the main diamond. I agree with the PP who said to do a thin band on each side. Make sure to get them soldered together to prevent the friction from wearing down the prongs and making the stones loose.

I actually bought two rings for my fiance. One thin, single row diamond ring to go with the engagement ring and then, one more substantial single row ring that she can wear when she doesn't want to wear her engagement ring.
