The Stonehouse at Stirling Ridge

Hi,

I just got engaged in January and am looking at venues now. I am very interested in checking out The Stonehouse at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ....has anyone been to or had their wedding here? If so, what did you think?

Thanks!

    Hi, congratulations & welcome!

I did visit the venue and wasn't overly impressed with what was offered.  The venue and location is beautiful but what bothered me the most was that it seemed like you didn't get alot of food for your $.  When I looked the menu was very limited - alot of the food needed to be add on's.

The cocktail hour area would be too small for me which was another strike. If you are having a small, quaint wedding, it could be perfect.

The bridal suite was small too (again if you are having a smaller wedding, then that would be fine) above where the cocktail hour would be held.

Other than that, it was very asthetically pleasing.  Hopefully other knotties have attended a wedding there. I can't think of anyone who had their reception there.

I too looked here. At first glance seems rustic which is nice, but it's kind of poshy rustic, which wasn't really me.. I'm only having a 6 month long engagement, and was quoted at most places at getting a good deal, but they were very $$$ for being on a 6 month notice. I did hear their food is amazing though.

    Good luck!

Neat place, but food reviews are not good, didnt care for the dance floor (slippery) bar is outside of the room, and for it was around $175 a person, although they will offer you to have it on strange days and times like Thursday and throw in an ice cream bar, but its pricey...

I was in love with the Stonehouse, until we went to visit it.  We actually went to the restaurant for brunch, because we couldnt get anyone to call us back to schedule an appt (not a good sign).  The food spread looked amazing, and its a rustic/contemporary sort of feel.  I would definitely check it out!

i got married there in march of 2008. we used an outside caterer (had a kosher wedding) so i can't comment on food but otherwise we were thrilled with our wedding. i didn't have an issue with the bridal suite being small, it was plenty big for me to get dressed in (got makeup and hair done at the hotel we used) and they even set up a little table on the balcony outside for mh and i to have a little private time after the reception.

since we got married in march we tented the the outdoor ceremony area as well as the surrounding patio for the cocktail hour. it was a chilly night and almost everyone stayed inside for the cocktail hour, i had around 215 guests and there was no issue with that space being too small at all. their is no set dance floor as the entire room is hardwood, so you are free to define the space yourself, which we really liked. it's no more or less slippery than any other hardwood floor.

if you have any questions please feel free to email me at lisaklinghoffer at gmail dot com.

I was interested but they never called me back to set up an appointment.  Most of the reviews I've read on here say about the same thing- not enough food to justify price, staff doesn't seem to want your business (many of us didn't receive return calls or had rude responses when we inquired) but the space itself is beautiful.  If you are really interested, I would call and go see it for yourself.  You may have a completely different experience than others.

Where did you guys have your wedding? That picture in front of the golf course is beautiful!

We are thinking of having ours at the Stonehouse - but we are very concerned about all the comments about customer service. Anyone have their wedding their recently with more advice for us?

    Thank you!

I just got married at the Stonehouse in November and could not say enough about the venue, food and Staff. We too were very concerned about the reviews we read but were very please with the event. The food was great and Frank, the Maitre'd, is fabulous!!!!  I would highly recommend the Stone House for your wedding. It was perfect!!!

I am glad to hear you had a great wedding at the stonehouse because I will be having mine there in November 2011.  The wedding planner at the stonehouse has been very helpful so far.  My fiance and I also went there for dinner on the one year anniversary to our wedding.  The food, staff and service was amazing!!  The owner even came by to talk with us since my fiance had told the hostess that we are having our wedding there. The owner then gave us a complementary glass of chamapgne and we sat in the bar and listend to the two man band that was playing that night. I did see some negative reviews about food but I have also seen some great reviews as well.  Overall I am really excited to be having my wedding there.  We were also able to get a better rate since we decided to have our wedding in November.

I know this post is outdated now, but I just came across the Stonehedge and saw horrible reviews online...
To riley1479...how did your wedding turn out??
