I am a NYC girl who has been transplanted in NC via the military. My DH and I got married 9/28/09 while I was completing graduate school. We decided that we would have a wedding on the first Saturday that our anniversary fell on a Saturday. That will be next year. We have already booked the venue, but nothing else. When I lived in NYC, I knew where to find anything and everything for a wedding. Now that I am here in Eastern NC, I don’t have a clue and I’m a bit freaked out. I know that things will be less expensive here, but I don’t know where to begin. I picked out colors (yellow and gray), but they are not set in stone. I am tempted to return to NYC to purchase my gown but I am afraid of the alterations and things like that when the day draws neared. I bought a gown for a Marine Corps ball. I had it shipped from NYC, I had it altered here and it was terrible! I am so fearful for that to happen with my wedding gown! I am looking for photographer, videographer, baker, planner, florist, etc. I know that vendors are available on theknot but not in Eastern NC. If there is anyone out there who can assist, please help! Thank you in advance for your help ladies!
