PSA: Operation Prom

I was just reading this article about "Operation Prom" up in Westchester County, which gives free prom dresses (or BM dresses) and tuxes to needy teens.

It didn't give a website for the organization, but if you are looking to donate old BM dresses or formal dresses, maybe this is a resource you'd like to explore.

Here's a website with info on where you can donate gowns:

Always a great cause (and hey -- I had a bubblegum pink bridesmaid dress once and as soon as I tried it on I knew it would make a PERFECT prom dress for a 15 year old girl, and so I was very happy to pass it on).  But act fast -- the collection periods tend to be limited (because these organizations I guess don't want to collect dresses in June that they'll have to store until the next May).

I've also heard of something called Cinderella's Closet. And doesn't Brides Against Breast Cancer accept BM dresses as well as wedding gowns?
