opinions please

My dad passed away years ago and my brother is walking me down the aisle - is it weird to have a bride brother dance? I was not going to do it and my FI just assumed I was doing it and now I am curious as to what people think about this idea. TIA!

I don't think it's weird at all!  In fact, I think it's really sweet.

I think its beautiful and your brother would love it. I know my cousin's father passed away before her weddding and she danced w/ her mom, so I think its a great idea. I know your wedding is next weekend- I hope you have a wonderful time!!!!

    I don't think it's weird at all.

That being said, you don't have to replace the Father/Daughter dance with another dance. So don't feel like you're obligated to dance with your brother just because he's escorting you down the aisle.

Talk to your brother and figure it out. Anything you want to do will be fine.

Do it! If he is important enough to walk you down the aisle, then he is important enough to dance with!

thank you all very much for your opinions, I talked to my brother and we are going to do it and I am very happy about the decision; it is something I always thought about doing but was worried it would be odd - just trying to decide the song now choices are

I am glad that you decided to do it, i think it is a wonderful Idea.  I have one brother and my H has one sister, so we actually added a brother/sister dance.  And I think our guests were pretty entertained, because my brother is the most uncoordinated person ever, we have some great "funny" pictures from us dancing.

Not weird at all. My good friend lost both her parents already and doesn't have a brother. Her older sister gave her away and they had a sisters dance to some song that their mom always used to sing to them as kids, it was very sweet and cute. Another friend danced with her Dad but also had a dance w/ her brother to "You Got A Friend" by James Taylor b/c he's her best friend, it was really sweet. I would definitely do it if I were you :)
