We checked out the Westwood and we were able to get them to do a private tasting for us.  You should inquire about that if you're really interested in the place.  The food wasn't bad, but I don't recall it being anything special.

Its a nice enough place and from what I hear the price it right.  My job has a lot of functions there and the food seems ok.  Good luck and congrats!

its a nice place, but I'm not a huge fan of it for a wedding.  I've been there many times for other events and it was fine.  The wedding was ok.

I've heard the food there is okay and the price is really good, but when FI and I looked at it we were totally turned off by the overall look/feel/smell of the place.  If you love it, then definitely go with it, but I think there are some nicer places right around The Westwood's price range.

Tini- it is exciting, a year ago we were in your spot, and every other venue we went to  we were like this is it! My advice is to narrow it down to 3 and lay out the menus and see what you are getting for your money, that did it for us.  We also wanted to stay within 30 minutes of our church- good luck!

I am getting married at The Westwood in February! We are using the downstairs ballroom...We really liked it(obviously) But they have some really elaborate menu items if you look...Depends on the package. Price includes alot & don't forget the gratuity is included & NO service charge like other places!!!!!!
    Good Luck!

Sorry - I forgot to mention that we had a tasting...It wasn't private although we will have 1 before we decide menu in November. And the food was very good. The cake is included in our package & we are getting the one with cannoli filling! It was soooo good!

It was my first choice initially b/c of the price - $60pp including gratuity for a Saturday in January 2008. I was ready to put down a deposit, til we went for the tasting. DH and the ILs were not impressed at all. They didn't even set the table right - they forgot utensils! The wine wasn't good and the service wasn't any good either. DH said, if they can't do it right for a small group, how do you expect them to do it right for 150 ppl? We went with the Bridgewater Manor for only a little bit more pp and it was fantastic!
