Hair and make-up suggestions?

Hello Ladies,
I live in Brooklyn but our wedding is going to be in Weehawken NJ, right on the water in october.

I am not familiar with Jersey but thought it would probably be easier to goto a salon near where we will be.  I am looking for hair and make-up for myself and my maid of honor and a trial for myself only (MOH lives in Pittsburgh).  I may want to get a mani/pedi too so i would love to know about some great full service places kind of near the Weehaken area.

Thanks
Erin

Sounds Pretty! Not sure if you're willing to travel that far from weehawken but the pink comb salon in nutley, nj is very nice for hair and makeup. ( about 15-20 mins away)

I'm using Sally Duval for makeup.  She will come to you, and works out of NYC and NJ.  For hair I'm using a woman named Shannon that works at Beau Monde salon in Englewood, NJ.  She is also coming to my parents house.

    Good luck!

I used Jeanine Mangan for make-up. She does trials in Glen Rock and in central Jersey. Her work is amazing. www.jmmakeupdesigns.com
I used Patti DelVecchio for hair, she is out of Manalapan. Both travel to you on the day of the wedding.
Jeanine has other hairdressers on her website that are in your area.

I used Mandy Liento of La Sorella Bridal for my hair, my mom's hair and several bridesmaids' updos. She was a little pricey -- with a $75 travel fee! -- but was fantastic. I'd say, definitely worth it just for her positive attitude alone -- which, in retrospect, I think is a crucial quality for the vendors you will be dealing with so up-close and personally. On a day when emotions are running high, you need to have a friendly person by your side -- even if you have to pay her. ;)

For make-up, I used Jeanine Mangan, who was pretty reasonably priced. She wasn't as friendly as Mandy was, but definitely was businesslike and professional. Her work was great and the makeup stayed on all night. She did manage to sell me a $30 pressed powder compact at the very last minute, which I paid for in the flurry of money changing hands. Didn't remember I had the darn thing until I found it in one of my bags the next morning.

As I found out at my wedding, Mandy and Jeanine have worked with each other before, so you won't have them stepping on each other's toes. They did chat between them for a while, leaving the other people in the room out of the loop, but stopped when they had to buckle down and focus. After doing a lot of research, I'd say that they are the best team out there.
