New Jersey

Hey!  I saw your post on the Merion cake tasting on South Jersey, but I figure that board is dead, so I would page you here.

I would love to do alternating flavors of cake like you are doing... but I have a question for you.  Did they say there would be an issue doing 2 different flavors of buttercream (because they might be two different colors)?  I really want to try chocolate and peanut butter, and vanilla or almond with a white buttercream, but I was wondering if it would be weird to have 2 different colors.

How did that work out for you?  Also, did they charge you extra for 2 different flavors?

Thanks!

    Hi!

They charge an extra $40 per additional flavor (the first is included).
The buttercream for the choc. and peanut butter is tan, BUT for your wedding day she'll only fill the cake with the peanut butter buttercream and ice it in regular butter cream.

Chocolate and peanut butter AMAZING together
as was the Vanilla Cake + Raspberry Jam + Almond Butter cream.. holy toledo, I cant wait for our cakes!! yay :)

Yum!!  Good to know about the frosting.   We are def doing chocolate with peanut butter, and I think FI wants to do vanilla with raspberry and vanilla buttercream (he's not a fan of the almond).

I'm bringing pictures of the flowers on my dress to show Diane... I can't wait to taste it and see her design!

And - I'm actually doing my final menu planning on your wedding date!!  How's that for making you feel like it's coming up fast!

You're too funny. Which ballroom are you getting married in?  You should swing the starlight ballroom . not sure when my florist/DOC will be getting there to decorate but you'll be able to see "all things christine" in there lol

You could probably tell Diane that you are friends with me and ask to see my cake. She'll take you through the kitchen, into her area and into the walk-in. Bring a sweater because the kitchen/freezer is FREEZING!! ;)

There is another wedding going on that day in the Palace ballroom, a tiny bit earlier than mine, I wonder how that will work...

    I love the Merion :)

I love the Merion too!  I think it''s fun to see what other brides are planning for it.

I'm getting married in the Empire room.  I loved the Starlight room, but it was out of my price range for the season we were looking for.  I will see if I can check out your room and cake when we are there!  I bet it will look awesome.

I'm sure it will be no problem with the other wedding in the Palace.  I feel like being on separate floors definitely will keep things separated nicely.
