Tides Cake :o)

Ok so as promised, we went to a wedding at The Tides this weekend and I zoomed over to get a quick picture of the cake! I know someone was asking last week for pics of them :o) Unfortunately, they had just cut the cake, so please bare with the fact that a piece is missing! lolol They were literally right about to wisk it away to be cut up when I snapped this lol The cake tasted fine..I believe it was a chocolate mousse filling between vanilla cake. One thing I did notice is that visually the cake looked kinda sloppy. If you look at the picture, you can see that they did not pipe an entire edge of the middle tier.

The reception however was fantastic! The Tides is nothing less then consistent and professional. Tito, who was promoted a little while back to the General Manager,  was there the entire night, checking in and making sure all ran smoothly. He was a peach and I loved that he remembered my fiance and I from having met us on a few other occassions and seemed interested in our feedback about the revisions they made to the downstairs. It looks lovely- as usual :o) If anyone wants a few pictures of the new tile flooring, I can post those as well!

and now for the cake!

Incase it's tricky to see, here's where they didn't pipe.

I am definitely interested in pictures of the new carpet and tiling.  I am a little surpirsed they went with red.  We booked with Tito so I am glad to hear how involved he is.  A little worried about the cake :/

Truthfully, I was surprised they did a red carpet in there as well. I preferred the old carpet, but it was by NO MEANS unattractive! With the cake, I saw a few really scary pctures of their cake onYELP. You might want to sneak a peak. The second bar on the cocktail hour area has been removed and seating being installed. It is currently in mid progress, so they very discretely have it hidden behind an off white screen. It was not noticeable at all. I actually looked for it so I could post about it on here for you ladies :o) The Tides is a fantastic venue and I'm quite fond of Tito. He was very involved in an unobtrusive way. To be honest, I probably noticed him more then anyone else there simply b/c I know who he is. He blended right in as an attendee almost. Perfect! My friend, the bride, said that he touched base with them throughout the night to make sure they were A-OK :o)
Here's the tile! It's a little dim in the picture bc they had a ton of candle light ambiance going on out in the space after cocktail hour was all done. The tile really brightened the space and it matches the main level now.

For the heck of it - Here's the food!

Here's the granite dancefloor. Sorry I didnt get a full shot without anyone on it. I tried to crop people out lol But you can at least see the shade of granite and get an idea! :o)

Here's the bottom of a pic I found that has a swatch of the carpet and granite in it. It's from the edge of the dancefloor. Hope it helps!

Any questions, let me know! :oD

awesome thank you so much for the pictures!  We are getting married upstairs in July but I still like to see pics of the venue.  We have only heard great things about the tides.  I am just going to suck it up and use their cake.  We never eat cake at weddings anyway plus with the amount of dessert options everyone will have besides the cake will make up for it.

Thank you for posting the pictures!

I knew they were replacing the carpet downstairs, because they were doing that when we went to drop off the deposit.  I don't mind the red, because we are having a wedding with fall colors (orange, red, gold) so I think it will go nicely with our color scheme.

The cocktail room looks great too!

I think we've decided to get a cake from a bakery, though.  I don't want any surprises.

    Thanks again! :)
