Luaus in Maui

Hi Ladies,

For those of you who went to Maui on your honeymoon and went to a luau, which one would you recommend?  I have heard great things about the Old Lahaina Luau as well as the one at the Hyatt, Drums of the Pacific.

TIA

Great!  Old Lahaina Luau it is!!!  Did any of you book it ahead of time?  I heard the luaus book up fast so I was wondering if that is maybe something I should do before the honeymoon.

Yes, absolutely!  Especially if you go for the mat seating.

We skipped the Luau.  How many nights are you going for?  I guess it depends on what your interests are, but we didn't feel like spending a night sitting on a wooden bench for 4 hours watching the "cliche" show while eating average food.  It also is not cheap.  I am not putting it down, but it's not for everyone.  Instead, we spent the money on a nice dinner at Mama's Fish House, and then hit a few spots downtown in Lahainatown.  It was a great, and we wouldn't of had the extra night to go there if we did the Luau.

User perhaps if you went you would have realized you are not sitting on a wooden bench for 4 hours watching a cliched show with average food.  In fact, it was fascinating, a realistic story being told, very informative, and the food was very good (dh loved it who is an extremely picky eater).    Before you go bashing something that someone wants to do, that others have done and like, maybe you should first think before you type.

I didn't go to Mama's Fish House because I didn't want to spend all that money on overhyped food.  But hey you went and enjoyed it, good for you.
