Using Paper/Plastic Plates at a Wedding

So, after seeing a post on the Budget board regarding using paper plates at a wedding, I got to wondering. Am I the only one who has only been to ONE wedding with paper plates? It's been 5 years and people still talk about it.

Well there was one time when my friends eloped and had a party at an ELKS club and the entire thing cost about $500 but I don't even consider that a real wedding. It was more like a get together.  Other that that I've never see paper plates or plastic used.  I just think weddings are different around here and girls on the budget board have no clue how much things costs in big cities.

You're not kidding. Even if it cost you $0.50 to rent a ceramic plate, that would only be an extra $100 if you have 200 guests. Most budget brides (like me) aren't inviting nearly that many. An extra $50-100 will NOT make me go into debt...
