Veil Help Please :o)

Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to get some ideas for my veil. I'm waiting to actually buy it until my gown comes in this October, but wanted to get some ideas/ suggestions! My gown is a full couture ballgown with a train. I'm leaning towards a cathedral veil b/c I want it to come past the end of my gown. I'm finding that I love matilla veils but see that they can be pricey! Any thoughts about where I can find them in NJ reasonably priced? Is there a diff. style of veil you think might work?
Thanks!!! :o)

Does your dress have a lot of detail?  That would be the only reason I would back away from a matilla.  As for cathedral, I say go for it!  I have one and my dress is a drop waist modified a-line.  The veil has scattered crystals so it has the drama with length, but not overpowering with detail.

Oooo that sounds lovely!!! I was thinking a mantilla that didnt have heavy duty lace. My gown does have swarovski crystals in a sort of spray effect over my midsection and has some lace and crystals coming up from the bottom- sorry my description stinks lol

I had a great experience at Sassy Chic in Red Bank. They specialize in veils and headpieces and have a ton of samples to try. I brought pictures of my gown and had an idea of what I wanted- simple cathedral and extra poofy- and tried on all different styles (and almost got a bubble veil instead!) Because they specialize in veils, they could answer questions most bridal salons couldn't. A mantilla sounds beautiful! Or maybe a plain cathedral with scattered crystals or a beaded edge? Good luck!

I had a wonderful experience buying my veil on etsy. Basically, I went and tried on veils in the bridal shop until I found EXACTLY what I wanted. I took tons of photos! Going into the store, it wasn't my original intent, but she told me the price at the very end, which I knew I couldn't afford. I sent the photos to an etsy seller and she just replicated it exactly. The veil at the bridal shop was $500, and I paid $50 for it on etsy. Let me know if you have any questions!

I think a thin matilla edge would look great!!! I've also heard good things about sassy chic.
