OMG- Why am I so anxious!!

I woke up today and my anxiety is through the roof!  I can't sleep cause all i think about is wedding, wedding, wedding!  Also, since my fall yesterday I haven't felts 100% but I think that is anxiety too- I had blood work done and it's all fine.  My anxiety always goes straight to my stomach... to the point where when I took the SATs I had to cancel and leave because I made myself so sick!  I hope I don't wake up feeling like this everyday under the wedding- It'll be a long 9 days!  We are getting massages the day before, but what helped you MGs relax or am I going to be a ball of nerves until the big day???

Oh no.  Dont worry just breathe and think about how fantasticly relaxing your honeymoon will be! I am sending good knottie vibes.

You need to go out and get distracted by someone.  Go for coffee with one of the girls.   Or at the very least go buy yourself a coffee and a trashy magazine like OK and try to get your mind off the wedding. Go to the gym for a while.  We dont need you passing out again.

I can imagine it must be stressful! I can't imagine what I am going to feel like when I get close! Other than last minute wedding stuff, do you have plans for the the week that can help take your mind off of it? Maybe if you hang out with some friends over the weekend, that will help take your mind off of everything for a little bit. I am sure the massages will help!

Good luck with everything! Try to relax (I know, easier said then done) but you are so close!!!

I agree with the distraction idea. As much as you have to do wedding things right now, you need to take a break before you explode- even if it's just for a couple hours.

I think the worst part of it is that I just dropped FI off for work and he won't be home until monday.  I asked the guys to tell me where he was going and they won't tell me-- I feel like God forbid I faint again or my bloodwork was bad (it's fine) and I needed to get in touch with him.  They told me they were taking his cell phone.  I feel like I will have very little distraction/sleep all weekend cause he is gone.  I'm going to the beach today, but I cant leave til I'lm sure my tummy has calmed down!

Got lots of magazines to  bring that I havent read yet!!!

Take it from somebody who suffers from panic attacks and high anxiety - most of it is in your head. Concentrate on your breathing if you start feeling short of breath and like somebody else mentioned - distract yourself. I'm completely against getting medication but if it persists then go to a doc and get somethng to calm your nerves. We wouldn't want you to go crazy on you're big day!

Sounds like the way I will be when I am that close - I'm a mess now lol. The beach is good if you can get into a book or something. what about your girlfriends anyone around for a movie or something - you definately need a distraction - good luck!

I agree make sure you have friends/family to help this weekend even if its just coming over to watch movies! I have to say I tend to have anxiety (used to be really bad) and I was SO calm on the wedding day people couldn't believe it! So hopefully things will relax once you get into it. However for the time being try not to think about the wedding (easier said then done) and maybe take a tylanol PM to help you sleep or something.

Also figure out what meds help NOW to made your stomach feel ok. That way on the wedding day if you need something you know what will work.

If you are into natural remedies, I swear by Rescue Remedy. (You can find it at any health food store or vitamin store.)

I use it sparingly, but it helps calm roiling stomachs. Use it in conjunction with dalmatinka77's advice!

Oh no! Try and relax! I totally hear you on stress going right to your stomach, I get the same way. Definitely try peppermint tea, it helps calm it down. Also, a distraction would be great. Hang out with the girls, go out and just enjoy yourself. Maybe a glass of red wine would help too!

I was like that- then the week of the wedding I was fine! Hopefully it will be the same for you.

Just a though, which I know I've shared before, but are you sure you want to get a massage the day before the wedding? I'm always so sore the day after a massage and that would be the last thing I'd want on my wedding day.

</div><div>I use Rescue Remedy on my dogs when they are nervous about things and it totally calms them. (The bottle I have I got from my Holistic Vet, and the bottle says it's safe for humans - I wonder if it's exactly the same thing?)

Most likely. The biggest warning on mine is to not use when you might be pregnant (I think because of the alcohol they use to preserve the herbs in there).

I carry it around with me CONSTANTLY. I had really bad anxiety my senior year of college, and it screwed me up for a long time.

I'm gonna have to look into rescue remedy! i have bad panic attacks (hyperventilate - black out - the whole 9 yards) that last about 10 to 15 minutes. usually the anxiety builds up for a few days like it seems like it's happening for DMLJ and then one minor thing sets off the attack. However as the years have gone by I've taken yoga classes (the breathing exercise are awesome) and just learned to mentally convince myself "it's not that bad" and after a day or two the feelings og a knot in my stomach/ tight chest go away.

By the way, DMLJ - I hope these suggestions help!

I use it mostly for nauseau. That's what it really is for, but my anxiety manifests through massive stomach aches and an inability to eat. (Really helpful for a hypoglycemic, huh?) So, when anxiety sets in for me, I need to calm my stomach. :D

Me too!!! My anxiety was terrible the day of the rehearsal until I had a few glasses of wine with dinner, which helped. My anxiety was so bad a few years ago that my dr. gave me a very small dose of xanax, and I was so scared to take it, but he compared its effects to a glass of wine. I'm not telling you to go get drunk, but one glass of wine can help.

Also, go for a run!!!! Or a long walk. But bring someone w/ you if you're feeling faint. Exercise is the best natural remedy for anxiety.

And surprisingly on the wedding day I felt totally fine, happy and relaxed. There was even a small snafu w/ my hair and instead of getting upset and freaking out like I *should* have done, my MOH did it for me :)

Everything will be ok... just keep telling yourself that. At the end of all this you'll be marrying the man of your dreams which is the whole reason for everything.

Thanks girls!  I gotta look into rescue remedy!  Sounds good.

The beach was really nice and relaxing so hopefully that helps me get to a better place! lol.

As far as the massage, I have never been sore before but I will ask them to go easy on me so I don't have a prob.  Thanks for the heads up.

I know the anxiety is just anxiousness for the day to come and imagining it over and over in my head.  I am 100% ready to get married... so when people ask if I'm getting "cold feet" I always say no way!  I'm just wayy too excited I think and hopeing that it will all go off the way i want!!

Don't worry everything will be wonderful. My anxiety before our wedding was the weather - we had blizzard 2 days before. Really try and relax. I made sure everything was finished and if wasn't I tried not to stress and the day before the wedding I stayed in my pjs till I had to get ready for the rehersal dinner - couldn't go anywhere either because of the snow!  Take sometime to yourself and your DF - go out to lunch/dinner and have a few drinks

OMG... I know exactly how you feel! I'm two weeks out. One day I'm excited, The next I'm completely nervous, the next heavy anxiety! I'm loosing my head. But I think people are right. I was lucky enough to have some distractions yesterday and today and it has definetly helped. I just cant seem to get rid of the spinning of todos in my head:)
