New Jersey Wedding for under 100/head

I am looking to get married within the next year or two, but do have a very modest budget.  I have scoured the internet for hours, but I am having difficulty finding exactly what I am looking for.  I know that there are reasonable priced venues out there, but I am looking for a special place that can accommodate us for under 100/pp (including tax, tips, etc).  Anyone have any names they can share?  Thanks!!

- My fiance has a larger family, so we are at 150 outbound invitations
- Already trimmed a fair amount of the +1 for those who are not married, engaged or in long term relationships
- Flexible on month
- Would prefer a Saturday night

Try the Graycliff.  They have prices under 100/per person.  The banquet manager there was very friendly.  I am sorry but I can not remember her name.  They definitely can fit your party size.

We met with her and were considering the hall.  We finally decided on Il Villaggio.  My FI loves the restaurant.

    Good luck!

The Tides Estate, Costa Del Sol, Bridgewater Manor, The Reception Center at St. Clement (Matawan)

I would look into dates in January-March, as they're usually cheaper than other months.

We're getting married at the Graycliff.  Depending on the date it could work within your budget.

The Manor in West Orange. Kinda funky decor, but lovely gardens and good prices.

I was married at The Empire Club. They are in your budget and they only have one wedding at a time.

Good suggestions already & I'll add...

    http://www.therestaurant.net/index.html "The Restaurant' in Hackensack

http://www.landmarknj.com/ "The Landmark" in East Rutherford

http://www.pantagis.com/ "Pantagis Renaissance" in Scotch Plains

Now of COURSE people will chime in/could chime in with what they do/don't like about decor, ambience, whatnot but if you have to have a NJ wedding on a strict budget & want decent food...check them out.

I find that at most any venue, you will ADD to the atmosphere by your wedding's unique presence (people, wedding party, any decor you may add) anyway.

Richfield Regency is very reasonable with that headcount on a off season between jan-march you should be able to work something out.

if you wanted and April/Mary wedding you would have to settle for a Friday though.

The Berkeley Plaza (where we are getting married) was right around 100/head.  I love this place.  We did consider the Greycliff bc it was VERY reasonable (like $60-something a head before taxes) but we couldn't risk there being a football game that day and mucking up traffic.   Hope that helps.  They were both very nice and accommodating.  They have plenty of room for your numbers.

I am getting married at Jumping Brook Country Club. They have a package there starting at $88p/p including tax and gratuity. My FI and I are having our wedding on a Saturday in May.  The place can accommodate a large number of people as well. The staff there have been nothing but helpful and responsive.

I am getting married at Bridgewater Manor. They have a package for Staurday afternoons for $69 pp. Other times are priced based on the entrees but are mostly in the $70-$85 pp range Their gratuity is only 8%.

Most of the venues for that price range were already mentioned by PP.  I'm not sure where you are located but try Ravello's in Parsippany and Courtyard on Main in Freehold.

Thanks for the info everyone!  Please keep it coming!!

We were quoted 80/pp (comes to 101.01 with taxes & tip) for Sat. Dec. 3rd, 2011 for an evening wedding.  This includes cake, taxes, ceremony, etc.  Basically our only additional charge would be for maitre'd tip at the end of the night.

What are your thoughts on that?  Where have you all seen the opportunity to negotiate?  We are going there in two weeks to see the place.

That's a pretty good rate.  Early December can still be nice weather wise.  If it's the Bridgewater Manor, they do not negotiate on price. I have heard that you can get other things thrown in, like a Venitian Hour, but they won't budge on price itself.

agree with PP.  If you can do Jan-Mar, you will get a better rate and more options.  The Atrium was the same price Fri, Sat, Sun in those months with exclusive use of the facility.  Bridgewater Manor had special rates for special dates (New Years, etc), also under 100.  Don Pepe in Newark also can be under 100 based on the menu.

Sorry for not saying where - The post below was for Perona Farms.  Anyone ever go to a wedding there or visit (we are going in 2 weeks)?  Thoughts?

I am getting married at the Primavera Regency in Stirling and they had two packages, one that was $75/head and one that was $95/head, obv the $75 would work better for you but both packages are wonderful. They are filled with tons of food options and best of all premium liquor for the open bar at no extra cost, plus the price includes the wedding cake and silk flower centerpieces on the table, which look real and are very nice. In fact, most people who book there use those included centerpieces. Plus, the manager, Steve, is wonderful I highly recommend!!
