Selecting readers for wedding

Hi - I have three close college friends, but one moved to Alaska after graduation and I'm not as close with her as the other two now. I've asked the other two girls to read at our wedding. Should I ask my Alaska friend to participate in another way? I'm afraid of hurting her feelings by not asking her to read at our wedding. The cermony is in a Catholic church and I know she's not practicing. I'm torn. Does anyone have advice? Thanks!

You don't have to be a practicing Catholic to be a reader.  FI's aunt is reading one of our readings and she isn't Catholic.  You probably will have to select a third reader to read The Prayer of the Faithful, so maybe she could do that.

I don't think you have to ask her to do a reading if you aren't as close anymore. But you could find other things for her to do-may be hand out programs or something?

<div>We didn't have to have a third reader, just two.  Maybe she could bring up the gifts?</div>

There are actually 4 things that have to be read.

    1.  Old testament

    2.  responsorial pslam

    3.  new testament

    4. prayer of the faithful.

    Do you have 4 readers?
