custom designed wedding rings

Have any of you had a wedding ring custom made? If so, where did you go for this? Did it cost a whole lot more than buying a premade one?  I have an idea in my head of what I want for a wedding ring (my e-ring is a solitare so I really want something a little unique to go w/ it), but I cant find anything out there that looks like what I want, so Im considering custom. Any advice would be great!

I had something custom done at Hartgers in Wyckoff...it really depends what you want... my wedding band is a platinum and diamond eternity band which is custom fit to the odd-shaped cushion cut diamond engagement ring I have...wedding ring cost $3000, which is nothing in comparison to the cost of the engagement ring...which I also had Hartgers make the setting for, we bought the stone ourselves  I think that was our biggest savings.

If I had gone with a round solitaire engagement ring, I think I would have definitely gone with a non-custom wedding band....there are so many options out there!  Plus, you can always upgrade another day

I had mine done at Devon in Wyckoff and they made it custom for me. They were amazing!!!

I knew exactly what I wanted and I didn't want to have the desire to upgrade later. I wanted to always wear the ring he put on my finger on our wedding day so to me getting it perfect the first time was really important.

I don't have a custom ring, but I came across a few websites that have rings with patterns and designs on them (mine is engraved with flowers). Do you know what you want? Maybe someone here's come across something similar.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. To me, I agree w. Laurie, I want a ring that I love since I will be wearing it daily for the rest of my life. If I have to spend a little more to get that, to me it is well worth it (the how much more depends on my FI haha)

I saw a ring I really liked that had little round diamonds spaced out, so the ring had openings in between, and the top and bottom were white gold (there was the option for the top and bottom to be pave diamonds too but that made it too tall and I have short fingers). What I really want is a ring that has hearts on it. From what my FI told me, heart cut diamonds are only available in larger sizes, so I wanted to see if I could get a ring similar to the one I liked but with the center being small heart diamonds or small pave diamonds shaped like hearts. Or something like that. I really just want a cute ring with diamond shaped hearts on it haha

mbcdefg - thats such a cute ring! I cant get a prong setting though cause it wont fit w/ my e-ring. I tried some on and they wont match up/kinda bump each other and seperate. But that is a cute ring!

My ring was custom made.  We use the jeweler we got it from for all of the jewelery we buy.  He's very honest and has beautiful stuff!  He is located in the Wayne Jewelery Exchange, Thomas Jewelers.
