Ceremony Music

Hi everyone! I am looking for a string quartet to play at my outdoor ceremony and getting a little overwhelmed by the rates I am finding. Does anyone have any suggestions for a group that will fit my tight budget? Thanks!!

We were thinking about contacting one of the local universities to have students play- if they are graduate students, upper classmen, or music majors, they may play cheaper :)

Would you consider the "Brass Act"?  I think they are less than $1K.

You might also consider doing a duo or trio..that can lower the price too.

Arioso Strings, they're located in Cary. http://www.ariosostrings.com/

They're decently priced and you can chose anything from solo instruments to quartets. We used them and had a string trio, it was beautiful, not much different from a quartet.

I used NC Strings (Molly Olah is the contact person) and had a string trio (in Raleigh).  They were really fabulous.  I think it was $520 for prelude, ceremony, and postlude.  I looked into Arioso, too, and I think they were a TINY bit more expensive than NC Strings.

My sister used Elegant Ensembles which  was a string trio.   They were wonderful and I had a chance to meet Mark, the leader of the ensemble.  He was easy to work with and had some great ideas.  Rates were comparable.  Not sure I want students playing at my wedding...too important.  Check at eensembles.com.  They have excellent reviews on weddingwire.com too.    Good luck!
