Since I just got done teaching summer school, I figured it was a good time to get a bunch of checks off the list! Unfortunately, living in Philly meant coming up to my parents house and getting everything done at once. The past two days went as so:
Tuesday 12:00 -Danny C. Dj
Thank you to Heather and Jaime for the recommendation! You can tell by his office that this is Danny's passion. Between his personality and his price, we decided he was the dj for us!
3:00 - Yumila at Metropolitan Flowers & plant exchange, Saddle Brook
Thank you Dmoney79 and Kathy for the recommendation! My cousin also had rave reviews of her and she did not disappoint. She made it so that all my ideas and visions could really happen. She also gave a mock-up of a bridesmaid bouquet (that I actually ended up liking for myself.) I will be back there in a few months to see the final samples of my bouquet, BM bouquets, and centerpieces.
7:30 Make-up by Elise
Elise is a family friend who runs a side make-up business. She's really sweet, and when I said I wanted smokey eye, she asked if I was sure and I said yes. Well, I looked like a hooker. Even though she knew that might happen, she wanted to give me the chance to see if I liked it. She started again from scratch and I decided to keep my mouth shut and let her do her job. It turned out awesome!
Wed. 1:30 Sculptures, Totawa
Sculptures is a hair salon recommended by one of my BM, since I wasn't too crazy with the one I used growing up. Emily had lots of great ideas, many of which I hadn't thought of. She was able to combine the pictures I had into one great style. Another great thing was that the trial was really reasonably priced, so if I needed to go back, I won't be blowing the bank.
4:00 Brielle's, Dumont
With my hair trial done I decided to pick my veil and look at head pieces. As always the ladies there are accommodating and helpful, even with my crazy questions.
6:00 G&G Supplies, Saddle Brook
For G&G, you need to have a membership, or buy a one day pass. This is a great store if you need large quantities of things, or lots of choices (three aisles of ribbon!!) The best deal I found here was vases, a case of 6 were $30. At Michaels and the florist, they would be about $12-15 each.
Sorry this is so long, just thought I'd share some of the experiences I had!
