rehearsal dinner in Bergen County

does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced restaurant for about 40 ppl, maybe including open bar?  would love some food reviews and costs  - for a Sat night at 8:00 in December - would prefer a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to finish in 3 or 4 hours?

  • Not sure what reasonable means specifically for you but we are having ours at The Brick House in Wyckoff.  They have many rooms and we are using the wine cellar downstairs.  If you go to their web site, they have prices and menus.

We also looked into Amano, which is very casual, in Ridgewood.  For the small upstairs they charge a flat rate of $1,500 or for downstairs on the side of the restaurant they charge $2,500.  Not sure if these prices change by season or anything, so if you're interested you should check it yourself.  It's BYOB so you can bring any alcohol you want.
  • Check out Que Pasta in Saddle Brook.  It's about $20pp, it doesn't include open bar, but you can BYOB.

  • I second Que Pasta.  We had ours there and it was perfect.  Dedicated server, good food and the perfect size room (they have 4 to choose from).
  • Check out Lassoni in North Arlington.  The food was delicious (we subbed things off the regular menu instead of their party menu) and it was very reasonably priced.  They were a pleasure to work with, as well.

Wherever you look, try the food out first.  We tried one restaurant that was highly recommended and got food poisoning from it!
