OT: Which Halloween Party should I attend?

So I have two friends who are each holding a Halloween party on the same night at the same time. One friend is from my elementary/high school days and the other friend is from my college days. FI and I usually would go to one party one year and another party the next. Last year we went to the college friend's house so this time, we should be going to the elementary friend's house. This time, however, it just feels different. I feel sort of uncomfortable at the elementary friend's party..we don't have much in common anymore and I just feel like we're only friends because we have such a long history. I LOVE my college friends and both my FI and I are close to the hosts.

I can't go to both parties in the same night. One is north of me and the other is south of me and it would just be too much driving in one night.

The only thing that is making me lean towards my elementary friends is that she just had a baby so it's the little one's first Halloween and I'm sure they'll be dressed up as something cute.

I'm torn...thoughts?

Hmmm I would personally go to college friends party, I dont think its worth going to an event to your elemntary friend bc of obligation. Maybe set up a luncheon one day with your other friend and tell her to bring the baby along.

I'd go with whichever one I got the invite to first.

Do what you really WANT to do, not what you think you SHOULD do.  I'm slowly learning the hard way that part of growing up is learning to say no, no thanks and maybe next time.  Do what you're going to have the most fun at, and set up a night out for another time with the other couple.
