Northern NJ Wedding Venues

Hi everyone!
I am looking for suggestions on a wedding venue. My ceremony will be at Holy Rosary Church in Jersey City and I want to find a venue that's not too far from there. My wedding will be on a Friday and traffic in Jersey City around rush hour can be bad, hence why I want the reception site to be close by. Any suggestions? I'm on a budget and am looking to spend around $100-$125 per head and I would like that price to include tax and tip. Help please!!!

Re: Northern NJ Wedding Venues

  • i think the waterside is close- depending on your turnaround it might be affordable.

If you are willing to go more north, I'd suggest the graycliif, the landmark, empire club, the elan, the royal manor, highlawn pavilion, the manor, hamilton park hotel, the birchwood, the tides, flanders valley, perona farms, the palisadium, and the bethwood.

Those are places I called that seem to be in your budget, based on the quotes I got.  Good luck!

  • We were married in JC and there wasn't much nearby. Michael Anthony's (by Newport) opened after we'd already booked our reception hall,  but IDK what they charge. Our budget was the same as yours - we went with The Tides and we were very happy.

Liberty House over in Liberty State Park is close, but it's pricey. There's also the Chart House in Weehawken but that's probably over your budget as well. And the JC Hyatt's prices are through the roof.

West Orange is about 20-30 minutes west of JC and there are a ton of venues there - The Atrium, Mayfair Farms, The Manor, etc. I think Richfield Regency is also in that general area.

  • Chart House might be affordable.  It depends on how many people you have.  They do it based on an event minimum, but they are probably flexible with price per person.
  • ohh, and what about maritime parc, I think it recently opened up in liberty state park?  you should try them too.  I think nanina's in the park is also close, but may be over your budget.

  • We looked at Pucchini's in Jersey City for our reception.  It's about half of your budget.

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone! Does anyone have an opinion on the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge? From the pictures I've seen it looks beautiful and the reviews are great, plus I think they are very affordable.
  • Farynyk...PM'd you
  • I grew up near the Grand Marquis.  It was used for all sorts of functions.  My friend had her wedding there in 2006 which was the last time I was there.  I remember the food at the cocktail hour being really good and there was so much to choose from!

The ballroom is nice especially with the dome.

Its not a bad place but there is one major con - its right on rt 9.  There isn't really anywhere to take pictures except for this little area that's surrounded by trees that is 10 ft from rt 9.

  • The charthouse is great, the Waterside is too.  In West Orange, the Manor is beautiful and affordable as is Mayfair Farms.  The Richfield Regency is right near by and they do a great job too.  Going a little further west you'll find The Grove, and Il Tulipano, also the Crystal Plaza in Livingston.

I am also a big fan of Liberty House, and the views are just rocking.
