PO Box spelled out?

This may be a stupid question, but I'm addressing the wedding invitations and one of my cousins doesn't have a street addres, but a PO Box.  I know everything is supposed to be spelled out (Avenue, Street, New Jersey, etc.), but what about Post Office Box?  To me it looks weird - is it wrong to put P.O. Box ????

I would just put P.O. Box....honestly nobody is going to pay attention though.

That's kind of what I figured - just checking.  I'm not stressing on "perfect etiquette" but figured I'd ask to see what others thought.

    Thanks!

As someone who lives in a town where mailboxes don't exsist I can tell you that spelling it out can delay your guests getting the invite.  Its okay to do it.  But the USPS prefers  "PO Box", they don't even want the periods anymore.
