Piano player recs?

We have one booked through our church, but the woman just basically yelled at FI for our song choices and was pretty unfriendly about the whole thing, telling him how much work this is, cutting him off when he tried to speak and just generally being a biatch and not someone we want to work with if we can find someone else.

Anyone have any recs of people they've been happy with?

I am having Bruce Foster and he came very highly recommended by our reception location- he had the best demo tape and loved his ceremony music.

Do you mind sharing his price range? Thanks!

Are you allowed to use someone other than who the church tells you to?  I used Tara Buzash for my cocktail hour and she did a great job. It wasn't a ceremony, but, I would think she can play just about anything.  I think I paid $200.

ETA:  She also played another friends wedding a few weeks after mine as part of a trio and did a great job there as well.

Dave Schlossberg is amazing.  His repertoire is huge - he has so many things he's learned via his training, and if you play something for him once that he hasn't learned, he'll just play it by ear as if he's always known how to play it.  He's also one of the sweetest peope I've ever met; he LIVES to make people happy through his music.

I would check with your church first. I would have felt really uncomfortable firing one of the musicians.

Ian Witthoeft.  He's an amazing piano player.  I think the name of his company is
From Bach to Broadway. You can tell him you're a friend of mine :)

She is not a church musician. We are not obligated to use any particular musician.

I do not not feel one bit bad about firing her. In fact, I cannot WAIT to give her a piece of mind once we've secured someone else. She was so incredibly rude to Mike. He is great at handling difficult personalities, addressing concerns, and she was a complete b!tch. I'm also telling my priest he shouldn't recommend her anymore.
