Photo Montage vs Digital Frame

We're thinking about paying for a photo montage to play during the reception. It's set to music and would probably be paid during dinner. My only problems with it is that it's something they set up, play, and then immediately take down and that it's $850!!!!!! I think it's a little high for something that will only be on the screen for maybe 5 minutes.

I'm thinking about going the cheap route and just buying a digital frame and having it at the guest book table and then I could put as many pictures as I want. Granted, it won't be set to music but it's a) cheaper and b) lasts all night long.

Thoughts?

I think the digital frame sounds like a great idea. I may have to steal it =)

If they threw it in with the package that's one thing, but $850 seems like highway robbery to me!  I would go with the digital frame, because after the wedding you will be able to keep on using it.

Yep, all of this. There is no way I'd pay for that. Our photographer uploaded pictures from the first look & ceremony, then had them rotating on a large Mac screen by the entry. People absolutely loved it, as did I! I think a digital frame is a better option in this case.
  • We got ours in our DJ package. $850 is nuts.

$850 is a lot!!! we are doing a photobook as a guest book so that can be another option to consider.

  • $850 is insane! My sisters DJ did it for free becasue they already had the TV's set up for a slide show for the Daddy Daughter dance. Its extremely simple so if you have to pay the $850 I would go for the digital frame. Sounds like a good idea!
