Registry Questions

I'm planning to register at Macy's and Bed, Bath & Beyond in January for my July wedding. Which locations offer the best registry services for brides; I live in Bergen County. Do you think the timing is ok right after the holidays? Is it best to go on a weekday? Anyone recommend I ask for a particular person at a particular location? Thanks so much!

For BB&B I suggest the Totowa store.  HUGE selection and no need to make an appointment.  We went on a weekday and the store was empty which we loved.

I've heard mixed reviews about the Macy's registries.

Also, I meant to add... we're getting married in July also, but we wanted our registry done before the holidays so people could get us gifts (if they want) off our registry for Christmas.

The ladies at BBB in the Fashion Center on 17 North were great!  They helped us so much but were not pushy at all.  Just go to the registry section and I would strongly suggest you do it on a weekday.  FI complained abut having to go and he ended up getting a kick out of it.  He never realized that there were so many gadgets at BBB.

for BBB I went to the one on RT4/RT17 over at the IKEA. For Macys I went across to the Garden State Plaza as they are the biggest in the area.

I registered at the BB&B in Bridgewater too.  It was great!  I work right near the one in Jersey City (and live in JC now too) so I frequent that store much more lately.  Before I registered I probably wouldn't have thought the store mattered, but the one in Bwater is bigger and nicer than the one in JC.  They have china and much higher end items they don't carry in the JC store.

I live right near Bridgwater and go to it all the time, but I thought the one in Totowa was much nicer.  The one in Bridgewater is always crowded and I hate how narrow the aisles are whereas Totowa was very open, had a much larger selection, and seemed more organized.

I specifically didn't want to register at Bridgewater or the one in Flemington, so that's why I looked for somewhere else.

The best BB&B in my opinion is the one in White Plains, NY.  The sales people were the best out of any store we registered at, and we had 4 registries!  It may not be worth the trek across the Tappan Zee (I work in Westchester so it worked for me.) A close second is the Rt. 17 North BB&B in Paramus.

Definitely plan to go on a weekday.

Since you are talking about wedding gifts registry, I hope you don't mind I ask a question about this here.
My question is....  How long before the wedding people usually register?

I say the earlier the better! Especially if you're registering at Macys. They give you 10% back of all purchases you make using your macy's card from the time you register until your wedding! We've been using that and just paying it off in full before we even get the bill!
