Outdoor/Beach venues from Myrtle Beach to Willmington

I just recently got engaged and am trying to find a location for the ceremony/reception. I want it outdoors with a possible indoor back up. Ideally, I wanted to get married at the Southport Community Building, but it doesn't work because of space and dates. I'd love to hear more suggestions!

Surf City Visitors Center in Surf City, NC. Not too far from Wilmington.

I got married there in May 2010 and it was wonderful and pretty much what you are looking for.  PM if you have any questions.

I'm getting married on the beach outside of the Surf City Visitors center so I second pp. I have been very pleased. The people there are so nice and it is cheap. Check it out at the link from above.

I don't know how far south on the coast you want to go, but my family has property in Litchfield Beach, about 30-45 minutes south of Myrtle Beach. Send me PM if you want some info on locations there! We were debating early on to do our wedding down that way or not :) but I have info on Litchfield, Pawley's Island, Murrell's Inlet, and Garden City.

I looked at the Surf City Visitor Center as well and it was one of my choices but ended up being too small for the amount of guest I had. My parents ended up renting a beach house on North Topsail Beach and we had the reception at an art gallery about 15 - 20 minutes away from the beach in Hampstead, NC. Here is the website if you are intersted. www.artexposure50.com
They have a pic from my recpetions of the table lay out. :)
Hope you find what you are looking for! Good luck!

I also recommend the Surf City Center. I got married there in September and it was perfect! We had about 75 people attend, but had the place set for about 90. I can't get the link to my photos on facebook at work, but feel free to e-mail me if you like to see them: aboyer8 at gmail dot com. We had a hawaiian themed wedding and the center was the perfect location! Hurricane Igor was just off the coast the weekend I got married and they had everything organized if we needed to move inside.

I'm getting married at the Southport Community Center and was talking to a friend today who wanted to get married there, but didn't want to wait for a date to become available. She is getting married on the waterfront in Southport at the Marina.  That is something to look into.
