Passport name change question

Ok, last name change question, I promise.

Did you send a certified copy of your marriage license? Or something else? Did they send it back? I'm not sure what other options there are. TIA!

    Yes, they need an original marraige certificate.  I just got back my new passport on Friday, but my m.cert was not with it.  I hope it comes in a separate evelope, since it is the only original I have...

    I sent an original with the forms.  They did send it back, but I can't remember if it was with the new passport or separately.

    All passport items come back separate, the photo book comes from one office the printing office and the bc,ss card, marriage lice etc come from the documents office.
