Is it possible to have a band for 4k-6k?

We have just picked a wedding venue and are now planning thinking about the other pieces. Has anyone been able to book a good band for about 5k, 6k?

I not sure its doable in Northern, NJ but perhaps you can help me?

Thanks

We're having Soul Revival at our Northern NJ wedding, and they're within your budget (6 pieces)

We booked Celebration through Jason Craig.  They are a 9 piece band for $6,500 so slightly over but your budget is definitely good.

I paid $1k for my band.  Aisle Five - cover band.  It was one of the best decisions we made, planning-wise.  My guests were dancing all night.

Definitely possible!!! So many people told me its not and when it came down to it almost every band was in that range (or very close to it). I think you can get the Silk Band or Time Machine (our band) maybe not the full 13 piece but 9 people or so DEF in that budget. We have time machine full 13 piece band with jazz trio and ceremony music for 7100 including taxes and everything.

    Wow!

Thanks for all the great information, i didn't realize how much went into a wedding. Luckily, my mom thinks she's the one getting married, i kid, i kid... :)

We booked at The Rockleigh Country Club, we are actually going there on Saturday just to finalize the date. I moved an hour south to Eatontown, so now its been a lot traveling back north to visit venues with my mom. Glad that part is pretty much over. Anyone in the Eatontown/Red Bank area?

I know no one around here. Thanks again for your music suggestions.

We're using Daddy Pop.  They're a cover band that plays a lot of the bars here at the shore, and they are a blast for weddings.

We also went with Soul Revival.  We are going with the 10 piece but their breakdown is a grand per person per four hours.

We're probably going to end up around $8k; that said, I think the high range of your budget is very doable.

Absolutely - Ariel Entertainment - their band was amazing at my wedding.  I had 10 pieces for about $6,000.  Go see them lat a showcase - you will love them!

I used Soul Revival also and they were amazing!!!!  They are totally within your budget and I just saw that they have the daily groupon thru theknot for a discount also.  So that may help with your budget.

    Good luck!!

First, Brian Kirk is DEFINITELY not in the 4k-6k range. However, I've been posting about a band I'm probably going to book: Garden State Radio. They've got a female front-woman who was on American Idol and made it to the end of Hollywood week. She's amazing, and they also have a GREAT male guitarist who sings lead on 1/3 of the songs. They'll learn special songs for you and they're DEFINITELY in your budget: between 4 and 5k. They're all younger (24-26) and VERY professional but also very energetic. They really get people moving! You can see Kelly (the singer) singing At Last at her brother's wedding on youtube. Search Kelly Caruso and it should come up. They'll do anywhere in NJ (and even NY, MD, CT, PA, and MA) and they're so so reasonable cost-wise. Plus, they're a cover band that plays out at big bars and casinos, so you can have the chance to go out and see them before you book them. Their website is www.gardenstateradioband.com

    Hope that helps!

Yes, but dont book Drop Dead Sexy who someone mentioned in this post. I booked Drop Dead Sexy for my August 2011 wedding about 10 months in advance. We worked with Chris AKA Ducky as well as their booking agent Zac. It turned out that our wedding was the weekend of Hurricane Irene but our wedding was Saturday night in the Hudson Valley (far from the worst hit areas). All week long Chris as well as Zac told us that they would be there. They even said they would be there "if they had to play using a generator". At 8pm Friday night they event texted my fiance and told him that they had booked rooms (that we were paying for) to sleep at after the wedding so they wouldnt have to drive home. At 10 pm, during our rehearsal dinner, Chris called my fiance and abruptly told him that they were not coming and that we needed to "start calling DJs in the area". Ironically, my cousins friend is a DJ who lives in Philadelphia (Where the band claims to be from) and he drove Friday night to get to our wedding venue Saturday morning, played his heart out, then drove BACK to Philadelphia on Sunday without any problems. We got all of our money back but I DO NOT recommend Drop Dead Sexy. They are unreliable and unprofessional. P.S. Plenty of our friends and family were able to drive home Saturday night and none of our other vendors cancelled on us. They should not have cancelled on such short notice!!!
