Verona Park?

Does anyone know if we need a permit to take pictures in Verona Park?

Also, any suggestions for nice indoor (preferably free) spots for pictures in case of a rainy day?  I'm looking for a place between Parsippany and Verona or in those general areas...

I don't think there is a fee.  We had my pictures taken there for my first wedding and we didn't pay anything.  HTH!

I hope you don't need one, because we are taking pics there next week and I didn't get one!

I dont know if this is really true, but in case of rain, our photographer said you can take pictures inside the Embassy Suites in Parsippany cause they have indoor greenery. It looks to me like they also do weddings too, so you may want to call, but could be a good backup :)

    Thanks for all the help!

And I'll definitely look into the Embassy Suites, thanks for the suggestion.

I know for a fact that you do need a permit to take pictures there but I'm sure many people don't get one.

Here is the link to Essex County Parks with the application for a permit

The number for the Parks Dept is 973-268-3500

Ok, now we have conflicting stories..

Irishangel - you said you live in Verona and know for a fact we don't need a permit? Who told you that? Because this website does have an application for a "filming" permit, and at the bottom it says "still photography - 4 hours - $250".

If this is true, I am not paying $250 to take pictures in the park for less than an hour.
But I have also heard of many people taking pics there with no permit and they didn't have an issues.. but now I'm worried!!

Actually Cindy....When I called I was told that the fee was $25.00 for Wedding Photography unless they raised the price but you should really call to confirm.

I think I remember asking Jason Rhee and he said that a permit wasn't required.. since he has shot there before.. but at this point, it would just be impossible for me to even get a permit or anything even if it was needed.. so I guess I'll just hope we don't get caught.
