Table Numbers - Help / Advice

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on inexpensive ideas for table numbers.  I'd like to limit the cost to $2/ table and have a total of 16-17 tables.  One thought is those round silver holders, and I'll use black and white card stock to create my the number cards -- although all the table number holders I've seen seem rather expensive for something no one even notices.  Any ideas where to find these holdersat a reasonable price / or share what you have done would be great!

We used card stock and made layered tented table names. It was really cheap.

Most venues have table numbers and holders already.  Even if you opt to not use their numbers, they'll likely let you use their holders.

In terms of the table numbers in general... there are TONS of things you could DIY for very little money.  Just Google or do a quick search on The Knot.  Some options I can think of off the top of my head:

    - Superimpose each table number onto your e-pics using Word
    - Each table has the word "love" written in a different language (put in pretty frames)
    - Each table is named after a different place the couple has visited together
    - Luminaries with the table number printed on a piece of vellum and wrapped around a cylinder vase
    - What I did: Each table will have a picture of FI and me at the age that represents the number of the table and then the number is superimposed over the picture (ex: table 1 has side-by-side pictures of us from when we were one year old, table 2 has side-by-side pictures of us from when we were two years old, etc.)

**Whatever you do, just print or glue everything onto heavy card stock and you'll be fine.

**Another piece of advice... if you wind up using words (like "love" in different languages), just make sure you include a number somewhere on the table number card so guests can figure out the room set-up and where their table is easier.

Have you checked with your venue? Most places provide table number holders and if you find them to be an item no one cares about or notices (an item not of importance to you), then I would just use whatever the venue provides. I was originally thinking of making my own as well, but when I asked my venue they said they have picture frame ones - so they sound good enough to me. Once less thing for me to worry about!!

We bought inexpensive but very nice picture frames from AC Moore.  I cut out numbers from textured white cardstock, then glued them onto pink patterned scrapbooking paper and put it in the frame.  They each cost only a few dollars each (could bring it down to about $1-2 each if you get less expensive frames) and are very cute!

I used tumbled marble squares and spraypainted the numbers on in gold. It was a bit of work, but they came out great
