Have we had a thread about caterers?

I hate TK's search thing so everyone put your caterers here! and reviews if you're married. 

FI and I found a new venue yesterday, and realized we're saving a lot of money so we've decided to get a caterer instead of doing the food ourselves.

Special Events Catering out of Jacksonville since we are getting married at Topsail. Linda is who we are dealing with and shes super nice.

We are doing our own.  Catering is outrageous down here! 

However...using the Alumni House, are you able to use outside caterers? I remember in college having events there and we had to use the on campus catering.

We used Visions Catering out of Thomasville, NC (so near GSO).  They have so many different options, that if you tell them your budget I am sure they could put something together for you. They also provide the dishes/glasses and linens, and will either provide alcohol for you with a bartender, or you can provide your own alcohol and just pay for the services of their bartender, so basically they provide so many options I bet you could make it work with your budget.  They were great to work with.

Angie's of Chris's restaurant! Angie is absolutely amazing and is doing so much food for our limited budget! She did 2 of my other friend's weddings and they were so delicious!

If anyone is looking for a caterer in the Wilmington area....

we are using Middle of the Island (MOI) and they are amazing!!! Their most expensive price is $17 and the Wedding Package is only $14.  That is the one we decided on!! Its awesome...you can go to their website and look at their different packages! They include plates and stuff. If you wanted China they include that too with a little extra charge!

My fiance and I have some friends that used them and all their guests were very happy

We are pretty much required to use the venue caters or else we have to pay an outragous venue fee!  Its going to work out to btw $35-40/person (still working on the math) but it was way cheaper than other places we looked at that were $70-90/person I found in Charlotte.  My venue is Carrigan Farms. The downside was we are required to pay for 150 people regardless if there is less guests than that. Children under 15(?) are 1/2 price and children under 3 are free! something along those lines.  we are doing a reception re-vamping.

I'm using Visions as well and have really enjoyed working with them!
