Day Of Planners in Charlotte or Asheville

So far I am getting back prices in the $800 range for Day of Coordinators.  Can anyone recommend anyone that is not so pricey for a few hours?  I really just need a person to make sure everything is taken down on time and to queue the wedding party down the aisle.  Everything else I plan to handle on my own for now so $800 seems a bit out  there...  Any thoughts?

I don't have any recommendations, but DH uncle helped with queing people down the isle and his grandmother helped with everything else.

You could always ask a friend if they would like to help. Possibly either pay / give them a gift for the help.

Not everyone will agree with this option, but as someone that had a tight budget, I took help when it was offered and I see nothing wrong with this option.


Aside from that, if I were you, I'd talk with your venue and see if they could recommend someone.

I had a Day of Coordinator for my May 2010 wedding that did my reception only - and she wasn't nearly $800. She is in the Gastonia/Belmont area, but she may be willing to travel a bit. Priscilla Short Erwin is awesome, I went to school with her and she did several friends weddings, she would probably do Charlotte.  The name of her business is Orangerie Events, you can google it, and she specializes packages to fit your needs and what you want!

Thanks for the replies we are now positive we are getting married in Asheville but I will see about the suggestions.
