Outdoor Wedding/Reception Location for about 30 People.

Hello - Just got engaged and joined this site :) Looking for an Outdoor Space that we can have a really low-key wedding. I'll love to have lots of Green around and don't mind just renting the space and bringing in all the rentals and my caterer in. We're really simple (only having close family - about 30 people) and really don't want the traditional banquet hall. Any ideas in the NJ/PA/NY/MD area? Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys Thanks. I'm pretty much open to any area in NJ but prefer Central NJ. Rutgers Gardens look nice! Do you know how much the rental fee is? I'm actually a Rutgers ALUM, maybe that'll help...

What about Rat's restaurants and Grounds for Sculpture?  I'm not sure what size the room is but I know its on the small size.

How about a bed and breakfast? There are a bunch in Cape May, and also in Warwick NY.

I'm having my wedding and reception at Rutgers Gardens June 5, 2011.  So excited.  :)  All the details about the fees and particulars are on the website.  You do get a small discount for being a Rutgers alum.  I think one of the best things about it is that god forbid it rains, you can still have your ceremony right there b/c they have the log cabin and pavillion.  If you Google "Rutgers Gardens wedding" you can find some pics.  Looks so pretty.

We also looked at The Whistling Swan Inn in Stanhope, which is much farther north and west.  It has a really pretty garden but was a bit too small for the amount of guests I want to have.

    Rutgers Gardens is awesome!

I'm having my wedding 7/24 at the Raritan Inn in Califon (about 30 min north of New Brunswick).  It's a restored victorian house with a beautiful old barn, lots of green, we're having the ceremony in the field out back under big old trees and right along the raritan river, it's beautiful!

If you want to think outside the box, the Harvest Moon Inn in Ringoes does outdoor weddings.  My sister had hers there and it was lovely.  Food was incredible as well.

Also, the Red Mill in Clinton, NJ does outdoor weddings.  Food is catered in by the same people who do the Bridgewater Manr...food is also incredible.

I reccomend Sayen Gardens in Hamilton-Mercerville area (central NJ).  It's a small park that has beautiful gardens, fountains and several gazebos that you can do your ceremony in.  They also rent out the historic house that is on-site and can bring in catering.  I considered doing my wedding there but it was booked for my date.  Check it out:
