New Here- considering venue

Hi all,

I'm new here.  My fiancé and I are shooting to get married in July 2011.  We're looking for unique venues in the central Jersey area.  We looked at the Prallsville Mill in Stockton today and are pretty excited about it but I have concerns.  To rent the venue, you must go through Brillman's Rental Barn.  I first contacted them mid-August and got an e-mail saying someone would contact me shortly to set up a tour.  It took them until this week to get back to me= over 5 weeks.  The few reviews I found were pretty negative as far as their responsiveness.  That makes me nervous.

Has anyone here had any experiences with Brillmans?  With Prallsville Mill?

And is it even possible to overcome an unresponsive vendor for a beautiful, rustic, unique venue?

I think Stockton is south Jersey, I would post this on the South Jersey board, you may get more responses.

Welcome!  Try Laurita's Winery.  It's in New Egypt off of 195.  It's definitely unusual and has a rustic feel to it.

I've only seen Laurita's website and totally fell in love with it.  Unfortunately, its over our price range.  :(  However, the good news is that we did book another historic site in south jersey.  Thanks!

Hi there!  Just curious what other historic venue you booked.  We are also considering Prallsville Mill, and were a little offset by the negative reviews.  I have been able to contact them within 24 hours, and found them really responsive, and cannot understand why other people have been having problems.  But I am always open to new options!  Please let me know what you found, because it seems like we are looking for something similar.

    Thanks!

We ended up going with the Moorestown Community House in Moorestown, NJ.  It doesn't have the same rustic feel but suits us still the same.  Good luck in your search!
