NYC skyline waterfront venues

Hi girls!
So my Fiance and I want to have our reception on the river overlooking the skyline. That is where he proposed and we both just LOVE the city. We looked at the Liberty House in Jersey City and fell IN LOVE with it! It was our first visit to see a venue but we know that it will definitely be there. My parents came along and agreed with us, however, we want to make sure that The Liberty House is the one. We were going to look at the Chart House but a) I am not crazy about the food and b) my future in-laws said they have been there for a company party and the room is small and the service is poor. We also looked at a place called Franks Waterside and the food there is delicious but the room was too small for the amount of guests we are having. Does anyone have any suggestions where else we can look that overlooks the NYC skyline?

Thanks!

Used to hit the Liberty House for company parties and was not impressed.

I agree with User.  We had our college senior ball at Liberty House and the view is beautiful but the food is not great.  I personally think it's very overpriced.

I have to agree with pp's...I went to a wedding recently at Liberty House and quite frankly I wasn't impressed.  I think you can do much better for the price you are paying for the view.

You could try to Jersey City Hyatt, it has a beautiful ballroom and an amazing view!  And the food/service was great.  It will come at a high price though.

Highlawn Pavillion has a view, but its nothing like the places on the Hudson (the pictures on their website are not accurate to what the view is really like). You have you look over 20 miles of Jersey before you see the city and if the weather is bad, you won't see anything and then you're stuck with an oddly shaped room and no view.

Its funny you say that.. we went to visit the Highlawn, but it was raining that day, so I couldn't see the view because of the weather.. and there was a wedding in the room that has the view upstairs so we couldn't even in go in there..but you are absolutely right! The room is oddly shaped and if it rains, you are out of luck!

I looked online and you are right, the view is not as great as is the view from the Hudson River.
MandiCate- thank you for responding! I am definitely going to set up a tour date with them to see and talk!
