I will be getting married Sept 6, 2014..I am looking for venues by the water in either monmouth or ocean couunty with a price of around 50-60pp..and we will have a guest list of about 100..Anyone know of any places? Thanks!
I looked into many places on or near the shore in Monmouth and Pt Pleasant. Most of them are pretty pricey and above that range, but if you look in an off season month you can probably talk them down a lot more.
Check out the Belmar Fishing Club. I have no idea what the policy is regarding weddings for non-members, but it's definitely worth a shot. Watermark in Asbury Park is more a lounge atmosphere, but I think you can cater your own food which gives you more control over cost. I got married in Point Pleasant and looked all around the area- your price range is a little low for what many of the places in the area charge, especially for that time of year which is still considered "peak". We also had a guest list on the smaller side, and we were having a really hard time finding a place the could accomodate our size. Most places want a min of at least 150 for a Saturday night. You may want to be more flexible with your date in regards to time of year to accomodate your budget, and availability. You will learn that most things in NJ books up at least a year, sometimes 2, in advance.
Once upon a time, there was a knottied named "Mrs.Shortie28" who had a bio that was full of budget ideas - I believe she made a bio explaining all of her vendors and how she kept her wedding under $6000 for everything.
Someone showed me this link in 2008 and I emailed it to myself thinking it was just really, really interesting. Just went to check it - the urls for knot bios have since changed. Bummer.

At that price point I think you are dreaming especially for a Saturday night; if that is Labor Day weekend you are in double trouble.
That said I would look into halls. I know there is an Elks Cluib on 71 in Manasquan. I have no idea what it looks like inside. Point Pleasant is also home to an Elks club but it's pretty dark & dreary inside. There's another Elks Club on the bay in Lacey which has lovely outside grounds but the inside isn't so great.
I'm getting married right around the same time as you (September 20, 2014) and to be honest, $50-$60 a head for a Saturday night is going to be very difficult. Look at the Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant. We visited there and were quoted $95 pp for a Saturday evening in September, and that was the cheapest place that we found. Also, they sustained no damage during Hurricane Sandy so you don't have to worry about that. Good luck!
