Our total budget is around 20k (not including honeymoon).
Venue for 100 people is 14k including tax/tip

Honeymoon will add about 2500 plus spending $

[QUOTE]  According to this wedding stat board on Pinterest ( LINK ) the average wedding in Northern NJ is $49K & apparently we have the most formal weddigns. Who knew!

I believe it.  On my month board lots of ladies are having cake & punch receptions.  I mentioned my wedding is black tie optional and half the people didn't even know what that was!

I sometimes feel so awkward on the month boards or other non-Jersey boards.  They really do not get our types of weddings.

Interesting to see the difference between the NJ poll and the October poll!!!

We're trying to stay within $15k for 100 people.  It's so hard!  I wish I could do something nice and interesting like some of the lower budget, non-NJ weddings but it's practically impossible without holding it in a gym!  I know we have higher "standards" for what a wedding should be but the area also commands high prices for even just mediocre venues.

[QUOTE]I can't believe that some people voted for 10,000-15,000 or 15,000-20,000. I wish that is what we were spending That is definitely not the average cost for a NJ wedding.

I voted in the 10-15k mark.
While it may not be average for NJ, I refuse to spend the "average" for one day.  I'd rather put that money towards a house or something else.  Just because I'm not spending as much as some, doesn't mean I won't enjoy my day just as much, if not more.
