Kure Beach dilemma

I am getting married on Kure Beach in October. I was wondering if any one has gotten married there recently. I would like to have a couple chairs for the elderly along with some decorations and sound but they say it is not allowed. Has anyone come up with any ideas on how to get around that or does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

They say no chairs?  I'd recommend getting married somewhere else.  That's bizarre.

    The Kure Beach website says:

"Can I hold a wedding ceremony on the Kure Beach strand?

Kure Beach asks that, if you decide to have a wedding on its beach strand, you bring NO chairs, tables or awnings onto the beach for the ceremony. There is no fee to get married on the beach. Please also be considerate of the crowds on the beach during the beach season. You can contact the following facilities regarding weddings, if you decide your wedding would not be appropriate on our beach strand:

Fort Fisher Historic Park at 910-458-5538
Fort Fisher State Park at 910-458-5798
NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher 910-458-8257"

It sounds like they've come up with this ordinance since beaches are public areas and they can't easily stop you from being married there at all.

If you're set on an oceanfront wedding, I think you can find another area that will let you bring chairs and decorations.  It's really not polite to ask your guests to stand.

I totally agree with pp.  You should look into other beaches that would allow you to have chairs!!  I'm sure some of the other beach brides will be able to help you find another location!  Good luck!

I'm getting married on Kure Beach, but I'm getting married in the area of Kure Beach that is considered the Fort Fisher State Recreation area, the permit was $30 but I can have chairs, decorations, anything I'd like to have.

Most public beaches down there do not allow all that stuff, so you'll just need to shop around to find something that fits your needs. I know you can have chairs and decor on Wrightsville too, but the permit fee is alot more. CB doesn't allow chairs or decorations either.
