Bridesmaid dresses - timing

My MOH is going to be 8 mos pregnant at my wedding which is on 11-7-10. So my question is, how long do you think we can wait until we order the dress?  The dress is an empire waist so I'm not worried about her belly, but she lost a lot of weight and we have no idea what size she will be in 5 months... ugh lol

Just tell the salon that she will be pregnant. Good salons will know how to handle it and will work with her as she and her belly change.

I would think it would need to be ordered pretty soon.  However, like PP said, let the salon know that she's pregnant.  She will definitely need to order a bigger size than she would wear tomorrow.  Just be careful about the dress, just because it's an empire style does not mean it will fit her belly.  Many empire dresses have liners which are not empire, but more of a straight style.

Definitely go bigger, rather than smaller, than you think will be needed...
It is much easier to take in a dress than to add material.

My pregnant BM wasn't pg when she ordered but she knew she would start trying around the time of the wedding well she ended up pregnant sooner then she thought and was 4months on the wedding day. She ordered her dress 2 sizes larger and had it taken in a little.

I wouldn't wait much longer to order, just talk to the salon about it- I'm sure they deal with this a lot.

Thanks ladies, I think I will err on the side of caution and just get a bigger size for her. Also, this particular dress is actually made with prego girls in mind so i'm guessing they will know what to do.

Your bridal salon should know what to order. I agree with the other girls that going larger is better because you can always take it in.

I wouldn't wait too much longer because you need to have time for the dresses to be made, come in and alterations. But definitely go bigger, it's always better to take in if needed.
