Venue Help

Everyone here was such a great help when I was looking for a venue and now my brother and his fiancee need some help too.  They are thinking about June 2014, prefer a Saturday night, but would do a Friday night, think they will have about 225 people, max 160-170pp including gratuity and tax.  They saw the Westmount Country Club and liked it but the minimum guarantee and price per person was bit high for them.  They did not like the Florentine Gardens and are considering The Clubhouse at Galloping Hill, which is a new venue and being built, but the cocktail hour space was a bit small for them.  Good food is very important as well as a big cocktail hour space.  They live in Union County and would travel up to an hour for the venue.  Thanks so much!

Re: Venue Help

  • I think the Venetian in Garfield may be in that price range, and they could def hold the amount of people. Or the Rockleigh country club.

  • I dont know about Saturday night for the places I'm about to tell you b/c the prices I got for Friday/Sunday would be about 160-170. They can check out these places for that price range for a Friday or Sunday:
MAYBE Rockleigh (they quoted me 145 without tax and gratuity for a Sunday)
    Palace at Somerset Park
    Imperia
    Nanina's
Brownstone (not sure how many people is their max)
    The Manor
    Wilshire Grand
MAYBE Crystal Manor (I had a quote of $185 incl tax and gratuity)
    Addison Park definitely

  • I just saw that they didnt like FLorentine Gardens so they may not like Crystal Manor.

  • I'm having my wedding at the Brownstone and they might be able to accomodate the amount of people, but they are def in your price range.  They do have a larger ballroom upstairs, but the areas for cocktail hour might be too small.

I second Addison Park, its beautiful.  If they are willing to travel to Jersey City, there are two places in Liberty State Park overlooking the NYC, beautiful views.  They are:  Maritime Parc and Liberty House.

There is also the Jersey City Hyatt, which is also along the Hudson River, but closer to Exchange Place.  And also the W Hotel in Hoboken.

And check out the Short Hills Hilton and the Madison Hotel.
