Hi Ladies,
I have never been on this board before, i am usually on the South Jersey board but nobody there has been able to help me.

We visited Mallard Island and Bonnet Island...absolutely loved both of them! I think any bride and groom would feel like royalty for the weekend. Just some things to note...you will get the most out of the space from having your ceremony onsite. Also take take note of the hotel rates during the month of your wedding and potential minimum night stays as it's in a resort town. And, at Mallard the dance floor is somewhat separate from the dining space. Good luck and have fun, it's beautiful venue.

We visited both places too and we and our families all agreed on Mallard!! We ABSOLUTELY love it everything about it!!! Not many people have been to weddings there (at least that I can find) and the one person who has said the food was not good on the day of which is a major concern for me!! That is all my FI cares about!!  She said the tasting was amazing but the day of was awful!  I guess my best bet is to get references from the coordinator that I have been in contact with!

MandiCate... Thanks for the advice.  I have looked into the hotels rates and stuff.  Luckily we chose to get married after Labor day so its off season, so we have more flexibility.  Have you decided on a place yet?  Good luck!!

I think Mallard Island is amazing. It is owned by the same as Bonnet Island and they have an amazing rep. I have never heard a bad thing about either.

Perhaps the best wedding I've ever attended was at  Bonnett Island, two years ago.  It was outstanding.  I think the food is Merri-Makers which has been around forever (but I am not sure).  I've been to other weddings at venues where they catered and the food was good there too.

Guests stayed at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin which was fine.  Well located.

We drove past Mallard Island and it looked amazing too!

    Good luck!

Yes Bonnet Island does use Merri-makers for the catering.  Mallard uses Taste Catering so i am hoping that they are just as great.
